Hours, policies, and other information.

To answer questions about my services before we start therapy, I offer complimentary 20-minute consultations by phone or video meeting.

Communication.

Using email, text messages and phone calls is limited to making appointments, inquiries, and emergency correspondence.

Fees and insurance.

My regular fee for a one-hour session is $120. Couple sessions are $145. I currently accept the following insurance: Aetna, Regence Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, United Health Care, Providence Health Plan, MODA Health, Pacific Source, Care Oregon (Medicaid), Trilium (Medicaid), Tricare, and TriWest. For my out-of-network insurance, I am happy to provide you with receipt so that you may, depending on the terms of your health insurance policy, receive reimbursement from your insurance company. Prior to the initial appointment, please make sure you understand your insurance policy for behavioral health services, the deductible amount, and copayment. Please speak with me directly if you are in need of sliding scale.

Length of therapy.

I work with people weekly or bi-weekly. Generally, there is no imposed limit on the number of your sessions. Some problems can be resolved in a short period of time; others take longer. Three to six months is a good initial trial period. This means that either you or myself can terminate sessions at any time. If we decide to stop, I recommend one closure session to honor the work we have done together.

Office hours.

My office hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. If you need to contact me between sessions, please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible.

Confidentiality.

Confidentiality is defined as keeping private the information (records, files, communication) shared between client and therapist. Under Oregon law, I will not share anything about your counseling sessions unless you give written permission except where required by law in cases of reasonable suspicion of child or elder abuse; danger of violence to self or others; or as a result of a legal proceeding. I am committed to protecting your privacy. During peer consultation sessions I may discuss some of the dynamics surrounding our time. I will maintain your anonymity and uphold the confidentiality of our sessions.

Telephone time.

After 10 minutes of telephone time, you will be charged your prorated regular fee.

Scheduling and cancellation.

The scheduling of a session involves the reservation of time for you. Except for genuine emergencies, if you cancel your session less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, or if you miss your session, you will be charged the full fee for your scheduled session. If you are using your insurance and miss or cancel your session within 24 hours, you will be responsible for the full rate at which your insurance reimburses me for services. If you miss three or more consecutive sessions, your session day and time will no longer be guaranteed for you.
